Jesús Curiá

Jesús Curiá (Spain, 1969) graduated in Sculpture from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1992, later completing doctoral studies. Although he initially intended to devote himself to painting, it was his encounter with sculpture that defined his artistic path, leading him to an investigation centred on three-dimensionality, on matter and on the human figure.

Internationally recognised, he has built a solid career with a regular presence in galleries, museums, art fairs and private collections in Europe, the United States and Asia. His work has been presented at important international events, including repeated appearances at fairs such as SOFA Chicago, Art Karlsruhe, Scope Miami, Art Madrid and Singapore Art Stage, and he is represented by galleries in cities such as New York, Chicago, Paris, Singapore, Sydney, Munich and Lisbon.

Jesús Curiá's work stands out for a sculptural language centred on the human figure, in which pared-down forms, organic volumes and the combination of materials build figures of strong symbolic and emotional presence. His sculptures inhabit a territory between the figurative and the timeless, reconciling formal balance, spirituality and a profoundly human dimension.

Over more than three decades of work, he has established himself as one of the most widely recognised voices in contemporary Spanish figurative sculpture, developing an artistic practice marked by the constant exploration of form, of movement and of the relationship between matter and emotion.
