Maria Rebela

Maria Rebela (b. 1995) is from Caldas da Rainha. She graduated in Painting from the Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa (2019) and also attended the first year of the Fine Art course at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha (2014-15). Her work is deeply bound to a sensibility and delicacy that are reflected in the landscape, or in elements derived from it, translated into their forms, colours and light. That development begins with a fascinated observation of nature which, as a consequence, turns into an intensely emotional experience.

She has taken part in various exhibitions, notably the solo exhibition Relógio de Sol, organised by EMERGE at the Casa Azul in Torres Vedras (2021); and the group exhibitions Dream Sequence, organised by Lisbon Art Weekend at the Marvilla Art District, Lisbon (2022), and the Exposição de Pintura, Prémio José Mendonça da BETAR, at the Grémio Literário, Lisbon (2023).
