Pedro Chorão was born in Coimbra in 1945. A painter, he held a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation grant for advanced studies in painting.
In 1976 he took part in the exhibition "Jeune Peinture Portugaise" at the Centre Culturel Portugais in Paris, where he exhibited again in 1978 alongside Justino Alves, in a show centred on works of an abstract leaning and part of the Foundation’s programme to present young Portuguese artists linked to it in Paris. The catalogue for his part included a text by Egídio Álvaro.

He is represented in the collection of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Modern Art Centre, with works such as "Labirinto" (1982) and "Pintura" (1986).
