He completed the vocational course in Ceramics at the Escola Artística de Coimbra and continued his training at the Escola Universitária das Artes de Coimbra, where he obtained a degree in Sculpture, a postgraduate qualification in Aesthetic Communication and a master's degree in Fine Arts.

His exhibition career includes presentations in galleries, museums and cultural centres in Portugal and abroad. In 2012 he presented Formas de Colibri at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas in Havana, in an exhibition forming part of the 11th Havana Biennial. Among his solo shows, particular mention should also be made of Antes do Céu, at the Museu de Olaria in Barcelos, in 2015, No Limite da Forma, at the Centro Cultural de Cascais, and Contra a Expansão, at the Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente in Spain, both in 2016.

His collaboration with Galeria São Mamede has accompanied this career, through exhibitions in its Lisbon and Porto spaces and through projects carried out in other institutions. At the gallery he presented Um Outro Lugar in 2008, Geração Global in 2013 and Espaço Pre-Ocupado in 2018. In 2019 the exhibition As Voltas dos Sonhos Perfilados em Ti was presented at São Mamede in Lisbon and at the Galeria Municipal do Montijo, in partnership with the gallery.

He took part in several editions of the Bienal Internacional de Arte de Vila Nova de Cerveira, where he received the Prémio Revelação in 2003, returning as a guest artist in 2011, 2015 and 2017. In 2015 he was awarded the 1st Acquisition Prize of the exhibition NEUR’ARTE, O Cérebro e a Arte, at the Museu de Aveiro. His work has also been shown at fairs such as Arte Lisboa, Art Madrid and JUSTMAD.

Sculpture in the public space constitutes another strand of his activity. The works installed include Anjo da Guarda, in Guarda, Cindazunda, in the Praça do Arnado in Coimbra, and Viagem, in the cloisters of Braga City Hall. His work is also part of collections such as those of the Museu da Bienal de Cerveira, the Fundação Bissaya Barreto, the Museu de Olaria and the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas in Havana.

In parallel, he has taken part in sculpture symposia, led workshops and developed work in set design and props for theatre and television, extending his sculptural practice to other contexts of creation.
