Victor Costa

Born in Guimarães, Portugal, in 1944.

He was a Professor at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto,

Director of the Centro de Arte de S. João da Madeira and of the Núcleo de Arte of the Oliva Creative Factory, and President of the Lugar do Desenho -Fundação Júlio Resende.

He has exhibited solo since the 1980s , at the Galeria Módulo in Lisbon and in Porto, at the Lugar do desenho-Fundação Júlio Resende in Gondomar, at the Fundação D.Luís I in Cascais, at the Galeria do Jornal de Noticias in Porto and Diário de Noticias in Lisbon, at the Galeria S. Mamede, Porto and Lisbon, at the Galeria We Art-Aveiro, at the Galeria Gomes Alves , the Sociedade Martins Sarmento in Guimarães and the Palácio Vila Flor in Guimarães, at the Galeria Municipal de Matosinhos and the Núcleo de Arte of the Oliva Criative Factory in S João da Madeira, and at the Cooperativa Árvore, Porto. He has taken part in countless group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, notably in New York, at international art fairs in Madrid, Spain, and in Basel, Switzerland. He has exhibited in New York, in Luxembourg, Goa, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Recife, Belém do Pará, Niterói, the Museu de Belas-Artes in Santiago de Chile, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Macau and Egypt.

He is represented in various Portuguese and foreign institutions and has public works in ceramics, stained glass and tapestry.
